  • 1 pkg. (18.25 ounce.) chocolate cake mix
  • 12 ounce. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 c. pecans, minced
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pkg. (4 ounce.) instant chocolate pudding and pie filling mix
  • 1 c. (8 ounce.) lowfat sour cream
  • Frosting - see following recipe


  1. In a bowl, combine 2 Tbsp. of cake mix with the chocolate chips. Stir to coat and set aside.
  2. Combine remaining cake mix, Large eggs, vegetable oil, water, vanilla, pudding mix and lowfat sour cream. Mix well with an electric beater. Mix in chocolate chips and nuts.
  3. Pour batter into a greased and floured 12 c. Bundt pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 55 min, or possibly till cake pulls slightly away from edges of pan and springs back when lightly touched with finger. Let cold 25 min. Invert on a wire rack, remove from pan and allow to cold completely before icing.
